Melton Tyson – Pastor
Brother Melton became the pastor of Rock Spring Baptist Church in April of 2006 after serving as pastor of Columbia Avenue Baptist Church in Pontiac, MI for almost 5 years. He holds a Bachelor of Science Degree from Georgia College and a Master of Divinity Degree from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary.
He and his wife Susan have been married since 1999 and are the parents of two wonderful daughters, Rebecca and Rachel. He enjoys hanging out with his family, reading, playing tennis, bowling and a host of other outdoor activities. Occasionally you will find him cheering for the Georgia Bulldogs, which happen to be his favorite College football team.
Modeling his ministry after the apostle Paul’s message to the Ephesians, Brother Melton believes his responsibility is: “…for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ, till we all come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a perfect man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ;” (Ephesians 4:12-13 NKJV). He fulfills these roles through preaching expository sermons, biblical counseling and leading small groups of people through specific topics as they relate to God’s Word.
