The Drive Through Nativity director is responsible for overseeing and directing the annual Drive Through Nativity.
Ministry Area/Department: Church Committees
Position: Drive Through Nativity Coordinator and Team
Accountable To: Pastor
Ministry Target: Congregation * Community in general
Position Is: Volunteer
Position May Be Filled By: Church member
Minimum Maturity Level: Stable, mature Christian
Spiritual Gifts: Administration
Talents or Abilities Desired: Experience in drama preferred * Leadership ability
Best Personality Traits: Dependable * good organization & leadership skills * Good communicator
Passion For: Glorifying God and influencing lives through meaningful drama presentations
Scheduling all team leaders to come to kick off meeting and all other needed meetings to prepare for the drive thru. Follow up with team leaders to ensure they have gathered a team to complete their task. Ensure that all gaps are filled and be willing to fill those yourself. Work with team leaders and be a point of contact for church members about the nativity.
2. Drive Thru Nativity- Publicity Team LeaderThe drive thru nativity- publicity team leader(s) are responsible for:
Recruiting a team to help you with your tasks. Attend all nativity team leaders meetings as possible. Make sure that all advertising materials are ordered and printed. Sign up for the parades, tree lighting ceremony and other events to information out. Place yard signs and A-frame signs for advertisements. Work with your team to come up with ways to share the event.
3. Drive Thru Nativity- Costumes Leader
The drive thru nativity- costumes leader(s) are responsible for:
Recruiting a team to help you with your tasks. Attend all nativity team leaders meetings as possible. Ensure that you have enough costumes and make/buy replacement costumes as needed. Ensure that all costumes are cleaned and set up for the parades, tree lighting and nativity. Ensure that all costumes are cleaned and put away in a timely manner following the nativity.
4. Drive Thru Nativity- Prop Leader
The drive thru nativity- prop leader(s) are responsible for:
Recruiting a team to help you with your tasks. Attend all nativity team leaders meetings as possible. Fix and make any necessary changes to props/scenes prior to nativity set up. Pick a time for nativity set up. Set up each of the scenes, ensuring that we have all that we will need to operate the nativity. Ensure that all lights are moved and secured Saturday for normal church activities to operate Sunday morning. Set up a take down team following the nativity.
5. Drive Thru Nativity- Recruiting Leader
Drive thru nativity- recruiting leader(s) are responsible for:
Assemble a team to help you with your tasks. Recruiting team will have a table set up in the foyer prior to each worship service to sign church members up for costumed and helping roles weeks leading up to the nativity. This team will need to understand what each role entails and will need to help church members find a role that is most fitting for their abilities. The recruiting leader will be asked to present a “Mission Moment” during the church service to promote the nativity and ask for volunteers. Please plan to attend all team lead meetings for the nativity.
6. Drive Thru Nativity- Traffic Leader
Drive Thru Nativity-traffic leader(s) are responsible for:
Assemble a team of skilled individuals to assist you in the direction and flow of traffic needs that will arise during the weekend of the nativity. We ask that you have a team member available to help volunteers park cars prior to the nativity to ensure that cars are not parked on the roads. This leader will be responsible to place traffic cones and caution tape as needed to aid in the flow of traffic during the nativity weekend. Please plan to attend all team lead meetings for the nativity.
