Leadership

Brother Melton is a native of Georgia, where he grew up as the youngest of six children. He gave his life to the Lord at the age of 13 and was called to preach the Gospel in his late twenties. He has a Master of Divinity degree from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary and has been pastoring for almost 20 years. He and his wife Susan and their two daughters, Rebecca and Rachel, came to Rock Spring in 2006. He loves tennis, bowling, sightseeing, spending time with his family and pulling for his favorite college football team, the Georgia Bulldogs!

Michael grew up less than a mile from Rock Spring Baptist Church.  He, his wife Angela, and three kids (Nathan, Abigail, and Josiah) lived and served overseas in Kenya, Ukraine and Georgia 🇬🇪 (the country). 

June Havens grew up in Louisburg and is married to George Havens. They have two sons, Jason (Joanna) and Brian (Madeline) and four grandchildren (Kayla, Camden, Walden, and Harvey). June has worked with the youth at Rock Spring for more than 30 years.

Jan Marie is from Richmond, VA, she has been working with children for over 35 years. Jan Marie accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior at age 10 and knew God had a plan to serve Him in ministry. She loves seeing kids grow in Christ. She is married to Gilbert Potter, and has 3 wonderful children (Christine, Nathaniel & Meredith). In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family and quilting.

Rita Currin joined the Rock Spring staff in 2015. Rita has lived within a few miles of Rock Spring for most of her life and is married to John Currin.  They have a son, Jackson, and a daughter, Rebecca. Rita has served in various ministries in her church since she was a youth. Rita enjoys singing, playing the piano, and spending time with her family.
