The people on this team must:
- Be able to work together so that prayer requests are sent out in a timely manner
- Be able to use a computer (through the Church’s Constant Contact App) to receive and send out the prayer requests
- Be proficient in writing and spelling
- Be able to shorten and rewrite the prayer requests as needed
- Be willing to find out more information, such as whole name, as needed.
- Have some knowledge of medical terms or the ability to look them up to be sure the information is worded/spelled correctly
- Be able to handle sensitive information in an appropriate manner. Not everything sent in needs to be repeated.
- Be able to name family/friend connections of the person being prayed for
- Respond to the person sending the prayer request if the person requests a response
- Understand how to filter prayer requests that may not need to go out for some reason. If a non-family member sends a request, you need to contact the family directly to get permission to send the request.
- Contact Pastor Melton if the request is an emergency request from a church member.
- If the request involves a church member, find time to contact (phone or in-person) to pray for them.
- Develop and designate prayer ministry throughout the church. This might include holding specific prayer meetings or vigils for ministry/missions efforts (e.g. having a prayer room with times set up during spring and fall revivals).
